LOOKING FOR A FUN AND EASY WEEKEND GETAWAY? RENT AN RV...AND HAVE THE COMPANY SET IT UP FOR YOU!

by Debra Saxon

Did you know that you can RENT an RV, and have someone come out and set everything up for you, at your campsite? I didn't, until my family decided that they wanted to go camping.

You see, I love being with my family, but the idea of camping is not MY ideal weekend getaway.

So, I did what anyone would do, when faced with the nightmare of sleeping in a tent, in a sleeping bag. I logged on to my friend, GOOGLE.

It was through my GOOGLE search that I found a company called RVShare. RVShare is the Airbnb for Recreational Vehicles. On this website, you can rent an RV from an individual owner.

Since no one in my family had ever driven an RV, I began wondering..."Is there an owner that will come out and set everything up for us?

And to my surprise, the answer again was, YES!

Since we had decided that we wanted to camp at Bastrop State Park in the Austin area, I started there.

Once you decide where you want to camp, you simply go to the RVShare website www.rvshare.com and fill out the information.

On RVShare's home page, you will see a box that says: FIND THE PERFECT RV RENTAL. Click on it.

From there, you will need to click the box that says DESTINATION DELIVERY. This ensures that the owner of the RV will come out and set up the RV, including the electricity, water and toilet.

Before you begin booking, you will need to know the following information:

1.What size camper is allowed at the RV Park or State Park you are traveling to?

2.The address you would like the RV delivered to, and the reservation information.

3.The dates you would like to rent the RV.

4. How many guests will be staying in the RV.

Then the fun begins. At this point, you will see a catalog of RV's available for your specific dates in the area you would like to.

When you find an RV in your price point, with the features that you need, you can begin the process of talking to the owner, through their text message program.

The owner that I am working with for my rental, has been very responsive, and eager to answer all of the questions that we have, in a timely manner.

Here is the camper that we chose and the financial breakdown:

This camper sleeps 8 adults, it has one bedroom with a Queen size bed, bunk beds that are both Full size beds and the couch turns into a bed.

This trailer comes with:

- TV and stereo for indoor/outdoor entertainment.

- Kitchen, refrigerator, freezer, oven, 3 burner stove top and a kitchen sink.

- Hypoallergenic mattress encasements

- Upgraded 3 inch queen memory foam topper

- Water hose with water filtration

- Gray & Black water dumping hose

- Sidewinder hose support

- Wheel blocks; 2 curved levelers & 2 chocks

- Heavy duty Camco leveling blocks

- Jack wrench & support boards

- 30 to 50 amp converter

- 4 foot carpenters level

- Toilet & wash area

- Outdoor shower

- Complete end-to-end setup (delivery only)

For two nights, and three days, including the delivery, setup and take down, INSURANCE, taxes and fees; the total cost for 8 people, was $579.

Now, we are ready to make some memories!
