One of the strongest and most useful powers we possess is our minds. We all have amazing powers within us. A great quote by Idoure Koyinitkan who is an international acclaimed consultant and author, “The mind is like a muscle, the more you exercise it the stronger it gets and the more it can expand.” This is why each day we need to fill our minds with positive affirmations, not only for ourselves, but for others. One of the most wonderful things about having a positive attitude, we never know how much our positive attitudes will touch another person.
One of my very favorite Bible verses is found in Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” We definitely are what we think. Each of us has a choice every day when we wake up. We can either spend the day in bed recounting the difficulties we have with the parts of our bodies that don't work well, or we can get out of bed and be thankful for the parts that do. It is much better to wake up with a positive attitude and focus on a new day with stored happy memories. The thoughts we have consume our lives, so we can either dwell on positive or negative affirmations
To be realistic......all of us will face adversities in our lives. Sometimes when we are faced with an adversity whether it is with our health, finances, family issues, friends etc., we then let negative thoughts enter our minds and we lose the battle because of our negative thinking. Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. “We attract into our lives the physical manifestations of the thoughts we think, and in order to attract good instead of evil we must learn to control our thinking, to think positively instead of negatively. We must be able to choose good thoughts.”(Anonymous )
I am human and I confess..... I don't have a great attitude all the time. Sometimes I let those negative thoughts enter my mind and I may get down and have my “pity party”, but I get back up stronger than ever! I remind myself I am the only one there at the “pity party” and they don't serve refreshments( LOL)...Great quote by Maya Angelou, “You will face defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated.” We were created to overcome adversities and not let them defeat us! We are stronger than we think!!!
I read the other day the World Health Organization has named stress a world wide epidemic and is a killer! We must learn how to manage our stress. People handle stress in different ways. I personally handle stress with praying and walking. Walking is my exercise. When I don't get to walk for a few days, my stress level increases and my attitude suffers. A positive attitude is tied to my energy. I must say....God has blessed me with lots of energy and with a positive attitude.
I will end as I began. Our mind is so powerful and our attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. Beautiful quote by Chuck Swindoll, "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.” And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.
You become what you think! Negative thoughts will never give you a positive life. Your life is as good as your mindset......Attitudes are contagious, so decide to make yours worth catching!!!! Stay Strong, Stay Safe, and Keep the Faith .
