When I write articles, I write them from my heart. Not only do they help me, but my goal is to help others. I am my happiest when I am extending my hand to help another person. God has given me such an abounding and an empathetic heart for others. He gave me the gifts of helps and service and that is why I chose to become a nurse. My greatest joy in my younger years was when I worked in ICU and took care of the sickest of people. I learned when taking care of my patients how important it was for them to have a positive attitude when they were faced with a serious health problem.
Life has its ups and downs and full of unexpected adversities. Some of the strongest people I know have known defeat, suffering, loss of a love one, faced with health problems, financial problems, family problems, but they have overcome their adversities. A promising quote from the Bible... 1Corinthian 10:13 “God never puts more on us than you can bear.” God always provides a way even when we think there is no way if we let God direct our paths..
We are all human and we become overwhelmed at times and get down and depressed over a situation. It is a mood swing which is from happiness to depression and we start having our “pity party thoughts.” We all have the can do power if we just use it. An inspiring quote by Pastor Joyce Meyers, “A positive attitude gives you power over your circumstance, instead of your circumstances having power over you.”
Adversities and challenges are life's way of creating strength. We are all created to overcome adversities and not let adversities overcome us. It's not the size of the problem, but the size of the person. We are all stronger than we think. We must turn our negative attitude into a positive attitude. Sometimes we find it hard to maintain an attitude of gratitude, counting our blessings when we are faced with adversities. Positive thinking is so powerful and not only does it keep us motivated, but it will change our attitudes towards our problems that we are facing. “With a new day comes new strength and new thoughts. Strength and growth comes only through continuous efforts and struggles. You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice.” (Anonymous) One positive thought in the morning before you start your day can change the outlook of the whole day.
There will always be challenges throughout our lifetime. As we go through these challenges there are always lessons to be learned and these lessons teach us to grow! We must think of ourselves as a mighty hero and one who can stand strong thinking like a champion and not let our challenges defeat us. I love the quote by Dr. Willie Jolly, ( Hall of Fame speaker, award winining speaker, best selling author and popular media personality), “A setback is nothing but a setup for a comeback.”
We must endure life and be grateful for what we have. We must dwell on the positive and not the negative. Be patient and never give up! “Some days are better, some days are worse, look for the blessing and not the curse Be positive, stay strong and get enough rest, you can't do it all, but you can do your best.”(Anonymous)
I would like to close my article with the encouraging quote by Wade Boggs (Baseball Hall of Fame), “A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcome. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.”
